How to create DVD chapters in Womble EasyDVD?
April 5, 2010 Filed under DVD authoring
A chapter is an invisible mark in the video that helps you navigate through the film as you are watching it. Instead of fast-forwarding to a specific point you can jump at intervals, these intervals are chapter points that you can determine here.
If this is your first time to use Womble EasyDVD you might want to check a complete guide on how to use Womble EasyDVD to create your own DVD movie.
By default Womble EasyDVD will automatically create a chapter point at start of each video clip(s) if you add a Movie(Title) with one or more video clip(s). For example, I have added a Title with three video clips, select the Title(Movie 1) and your will notice there are three chapter points which are displayed as yellow-colored marks along the top edge of the video preview window's timeline.
There are two ways to create chapters in Womble EasyDVD.
1. Add equal length chapters
Select the Movie you want to add chapters, right click it and select "Add equal length chapters" from the context menu.

In the dialog window, select a number (or length), and press the OK button. Then Womble EasyDVD will automatically add the specified number of chapters to the selected Movie.

Note: this operation will replace all the previously set chapters.
2. Add chapters manually
Select the Movie you want to add chapters, the movie will appear in the right video preview window. You will notice the video preview window is in the Movie mode. (Due to the difference between an EasyDVD Movie and a video clip, the video preview window will switch between the Movie mode and the Clip mode, depending on whether the current selection of the Source is a Movie item or a video clip item. A quick identification for the two modes is the play button color: Movie: blue; Clip: yellow. )
Drag the slider to navigate through the movie and preview it in the video preview window. When you find the frame with which you want to start a chapter, click the "add/remove chapter" button or press "M" key on the keyboard to set a chapter point.
2.3. To remove a chapter, find the chapter marker you want to delete with the help of the "next chapter" and the "previous chapter" buttons or press the Page Up and Page Down keys on the keyboard, then click the "add/remove chapter" button or press "M" key on the keyboard.
