How to rip a Blu-ray movie disc? Here are some solutions, you can choose to fit your need.

Solution1: Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum

Although this is not a Blu-Ray Ripper, I have added this to my list because of the excellent options it provides and because of its low price. Wondershare DVD Ripper can rip DVD’s to many video formats such as MP4, MP4 AVC, M4V, AVI, WMV, MOV, RM, 3GP, 3G2, MPG, MPEG, FLV, WMA, M4A, MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA, ASF, Vob, etc.

As can be seen from the screenshot below, this DVD ripper can convert the DVD to many popular formats. Meaning that with this software you can copy your movies to any portable device you own be it iphone, PSP, mp4 player or any cell phone, and watch all your favorite movies on the go.

DVD Ripper platinum also supports the popular “TRIM” option allowing you to rip only your favourite part of the movie from the DVD. This way you dont have to wait for the whole DVD ripping process. From the software, just select the start and end markers and select start to rip only that part of the movie. This is perfect for cell phones having limited memory.

Audio: AAC, AC3, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA, M4A, RA, Aiff, AU.

With this conversion option you can also convert your favorite DVD or Blu-Ray movies to be watched on your iphone, PSP, cell phone and many other portable devices.

Another great feature of this software is, “scene ripping”. With this option you can only rip the part you like.. You dont have to rip the whole movie. TOP Blu-Ray Ripper also supports the popular “split by scene” option. Ripping an entire DVD can be very tiresome especially if you are planning to cut out only your favorite part from the movie. This Blu-Ray Ripper allows you to do just that. By setting the start and end markers in preview mode you can rip only the selected part to your hard drive.

Once the movie is ripped, you can edit your blu-ray M2TS videos by clipping, cropping, editing frame effect, adjust subtitles, adding watermarks and much more to fully customize your videos.

Pavtube Blu Ray Ripper is another Blu Ray Ripper that can rip blu ray discs along with conventional DVD. Having said that this is a one fine coded software. It is a Ripper, Converter and Editor all in one or to be more specific Pavtube Blu Ray Ripper Ultimate is an 8-in-one ripper and converter, it can be used as Blu-ray DVD Ripper, DVD Ripper, Blu-ray Backup, DVD Backup, Blu-ray Editor, DVD Editor, Video Converter and Video Editor. Similar to the other rippers reviewed here it can convert the blu ray .m2ts file format to any other video format however i could not help but notice that the output options in this ripper are a lot more when compared to the other blu ray rippers.

As mentioned above Pavtube Ripper can support a huge selection of output options as can be seen from the screen shot below.

As can be seen from the screen shot that pavtube blu ray ripper can convert the video into popular audio and video formats like AVI, ASF, MPEG, MP4, WMV, MKV, MOV, FLV, SWF, RM, 3GP, AAC, AC3, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA, M4A, etc to playback on your beloved portable players such as iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, Zune, Blackberry, PSP, Creative Zen, Xbox, etc. Other than the large selection of preset output formats you can also set the output to custom settings and go into the advanced mode to set all of the parameters yourself.

Along with the usual merge and split options you can also use the crop option, an option that does not exist in the other blu ray ripper reviewed here. Also the Ultimate version has a way superior video editor. Using that you can, along with other ripper options (such as trimming, cropping, adding watermark, choosing special effects), replace the audio of a video with an audio file of your own.

The software editor also allows to add your own watermark/text watermark to the ripped videos giving a more personalized touch.

All in all this is a wonderful software and considering the options provided it is one of the cheapest blu ray ripper I have reviewed here and I highly recommend you try it out. It is also available as a free trial.
